What would you say is the typical cost for running equipment fuel maintenance on skid steers and dozers etc...

Every track is different, I'm sure, but we use an average of 150 gallons per weekend in 3 pieces. Maintenance is tougher. The given numbers are roughly $300-500 per piece in oil change and filters 1-2 per year depending on your hours used. The unknowns, belts, tires, hoses, fuel lines etc. that's the tough part, hard to quantify that. And implement maintance, lost shovels, broken tines, dead cylinders, wheel bearings, etc. I would throw roughly 25-30k on maintenance per piece on a 10 year life cycle, its a ball park/wag number, but its best you can do without a crystal ball. 1 year you might make it through with just basic stuff, and the next a tranny goes out, or you need cutting edges or sprockets, or a whole under carriage. Its expensive.
