    Enclosed broken into

I hate reading all these stories about people getting things stolen. Like George suggests, I always have resisted the urge to have ANY stickers on my trailer to tip off what may be inside. I also keep the trailer locked, my bike chained and locked to a hefty D-ring that bolts through the frame...

Had a blast today. The new section (and reopened old section) were fun.

How did you pick your racing number?

I raced back in the late 70's and 80's, and the last number I used back then was 29. I don't even remember why. Then I was out of the sport for almost 20 years when I went off to college and then started a family. When I returned to racing, I wanted to lessen the chances of someone else having...

Ribbed for my riding pleasure seat covers

I put a Motoseat cover on for last season and it rocks. I was amazed at the difference. But as others have mentioned, make sure you cinch your pants extra tight. It WILL pull them down if you're not prepared. I thought about adding a bump when I changed covers, but decided to try without the...

    Recently deceased tracks.

Huggie Bear and Harbor Woods. Those were the first tracks I visited before I even started racing. My brother was racing back then on a Suzuki RM125. My biggest memories of those early tracks were the rubber band starting gates. I'm just young enough to have SEEN them, but never actually lined up...

    Recently deceased tracks.

Yankee Lake was where I raced the most my first couple years of racing. It was only 10 minutes from my house growing up. Unfortunately, I was standing right at the fence and watched the crash that cost a young man his life. It's been so long, I can't recall his name. I believe that was '84. They...

    OMA overall championships OPINION!

I certainly benefitted from knowing the rules, but I'm not going to apologize for it. I read the rulebook before the season started, and reviewed it a few times during the season whenever I questioned something. Am I the second fastest guy racing +40 class? Heck no. Not even close. But you have...

    Rocky Mountain cards

I think I've raced 11 Moto Rev series events and have only ever seen two or three of the cards, and those were months ago. I don't complain, because they're gravy as far as I'm concerned. Sure would be nice to buy offseason replacement parts with, though.

    The cost of progress???

From the looks of the aerial view, the peak where the track was is GONE. So, no matter what, the old 330 as we know it is forever lost.

    The cost of progress???

So sad what's become of one of my all time fave tracks. RIP Area330 https://www.google.com/maps/@40.5464594,-81.0051229,931m/data=!3m1!1e3

Final MX 213 Practice & Race of the Season

Made my first trip down to MX213 and had a blast. The track was fast but safe, and very fun. Lots of long straights and fast sweeper turns. Staff kept the program rolling along and we were on the road by 3:00 (as the last moto was starting). Derek did a great job announcing, as usual (sorry that...

    DC vet championship.

I think they run the "4-stroke" class to give the +25's a second class to run. They should just call it OPEN.

    DC vet championship.

I raced it in 2010, 2011, and 2012. Classes aren't as big as Red Bud Vet Fest, but it's still usually a fun event. I can say that the track won't be prepped anywhere near as nice as it is for National weekend, but the race is later in the season this year, so maybe weather will help a bit. They...

    OIR race Sunday 9/21

Agree 100%. Those who got scared by the bad forecast really missed out. Ended up being a beautiful day, and the track was just about perfect. I even managed to steal an overall from saplakc, who was probably just still shaken up over the loss of his canopy that the wind decided to destroy.

    Thank's Malvern.

Track conditions were AMAZING. Thanks to Jason and the rest of the crew for the expert track prep, and smoothly run program.

Youngstown MX open this Saturday and Sunday 9/6-7

The track was awesome Sunday, as always. And here's my two cents about track prep. If you DON'T disc deep, and you get a bunch of bikes (or wind, or heat), the track is junk all day. It dries out too fast, and just gets dusty and what ruts have formed get rock hard. There's no crystal ball that...

    OMA Banquet Hall Challenge!

http://aladdineventcenter.com/ In Columbus. Was there for my daughter's dance competition earlier this year. Not sure if it fits into the 'affordable' category or not, but it sure would be a fantastic site for the banquet.
