Ohio motocross end of year opinions

I didn't know that Don Kenworthy Jr. was a member here back then.

    They got me....

Paxton was great. I remember hanging with him & Josh Steel at Kenworthy's and Josh made a comment about Paxton's new bike needing maintenance. Pax replied, "I guess it is time to sell it and buy another." The sad part is I am not sure if he was joking.

Here is a follow up on Logan Mortberg. He went 8-5-3 in s/mini1 for 4th over all and went 12-5-7 in s/mini2 for 5th over all. Two top five finishes for a kid racing the same bike that he raced last year with very little support. I have a new hero!

    Loretta’s Week!!

Cutting the remaining motos to 10 minutes except open pro sport.

    Loretta’s Week!!

Oops. I think this is a first. Giving out the number 1 plate and then having a re-do after recalculating. Unless you count 2002 when Michael LaPaglia was given the #1 plate, only to have a second presentation to Jonathan Camp in 125C stock.

    Loretta’s Week!!

It is. The 8:30am radar showed that storm tracking NE and missing the ranch. Oh well, so much for a career as a weather forecaster.

    Loretta’s Week!!

It looks like they are going to dodge today's storm.

Looks like I was wrong on this one. Heading into the final day the fast lap of the week is a 1:52.412 by Broc Peterson on lap 2 of the opening moto of the week in Vet 30+.

    Loretta’s Week!!

The revised race order for Saturday is up. Starting at 6:30am Central Time with sighting laps. I assume that means that there is no sighting lap before the moto. Good thing the track doesn't change throughout the day. :) https://mxsports.com/2023/08/04/revised-saturday-race-order

    Loretta’s Week!!

Not anymore. Once a claim is made it can not be rescinded. Not sure if we refer to that as the Schofield Rule, the Deegan Rule, the Star Racing Rule, or the Morgantown Mafia Rule.

A little info on Logan Mortberg, the racer that almost had the hole shot and led for a bit before dropping to 5th in S/mini2. He is racing the same bike as last year, a 2022 KTM 112cc w/ approx. 50 hrs. on it. His practice bike is a 2021 KTM 105cc. He gets to practice 2 nights a week AFTER...

    Loretta’s Week!!

Over the years that I have been going to the ranch, I have seen every combination to deal with weather delays., from shortening motos. to only running two motos, to running extra time on Saturday. The Saturday option was easier in the early days when they ended at 12:30 on Saturday. For minor...

    Loretta’s Week!!

I can't remember if they lost an entire day or portions of multiple days, but in 1995 the event was shortened to 2 motos. I still have the bib from a top 10 finish in 125A mod from that year. And before you look, I was never anywhere close to being that fast, but my friend Anthony was and he...

But it says it right in the name, PRO/sport. Let Dax race. Is it just Dax, or are you also unsure of Brad West, Preston Buespflug, and Mitchell Zaremba? Ever since the start of contingency programs the guidelines for amateur, pro/am, and pro have become severely muddles.

In the 40+ and 50+ I never doubted Mike. It was in the 25+class that I knew that father time would catch up with him. and I believe that year was 2021 when Mike failed to make the podium in 25+. And as I have said every year, I have nothing but respect for Mike, I have known him since the...

And the winner of that moto, Broc Peterson is from Delta, OH. A good showing by the Ohio guys.

    108 MOTOS

I remember that. Cole did that with 4-3-1 motos. I don't see that getting it done this year. I think it will take at least 2 moto wins to win the class, whether it is Dax, Jacob, Beaumer, or Matti J. Long story short. He made a (very) poor decision, lost his Yamaha support, and was told to...

    108 MOTOS

I will defer to Mr. Iverson's comments above, but Jacob Hayes just laid the smack down to the youngsters in the 450 P/S practice. At least all of the youngsters except Dax and Julien Beaumer. I thought it was a cute joke when I commented that it would be cool to see a double class winner...
