Ohio title Question

Looking at getting a pitbike that is in Ohio. Seller wants to transfer the title to me. In PA we do not need to title a dirt bike. If I transfer the title in Ohio, will I have to pay tax in Ohio?

i dont think youd be able to transfer it in ohio without proof of residence, you'd transfer it in PA and youd pay PA sales tax


each state will have a different process for an out of state title.. I know in ohio to get an out of state title converted to ohio in your name, you get an inspection which is a piece of paper they make you pay a dollars for, they write the vin on it, walk out to the car/bike etc, verify the vin, and thats it. dumbest thing ever.

do not know what PA's out of state process is, but I'd expect something similar.

Tell him to give you the title. And you’ll transfer it once it’s back to Pa with your bill of sale.

Conveniently forget you placed the title and the bill of sale in your safe at home. And leave it there for eternity.
