In 1999 when I was 20 years old I had a choice, to stay in Washington and get a normal job or to give racing professionally a try. I always knew I would regret it If I didn’t try so I sold everything I had, bought a bike and loaded up my 1978 G10 van and headed to Pennsylvania. I had a friend of a friend living in Pennsylvania that agreed to let me stay with him and work off my rent. In all honesty I figured I would race for a year and head back to Washington, but with the help and support of my dad Darrell and my entire family, along with a lot of dedication and hard work, my results steadily improved. I had a lot of ups and downs but instead of getting discouraged about the negative I just took what I learned and tried to improve my results and conditioning each and every week. I could go on for hours about all the challenges and adversity I went through, but I will save that for another time. I can tell you the most important thing I learned during that time; even if nobody believes in you, as long as you work hard and believe in yourself, there is nothing you can’t accomplish.

In 2002 Yamaha and the Am-Pro Yamaha team signed me on and I moved to the warmer climate of South Carolina. With the help and guidance of Randy Hawkins I became one of the sports top racers. I have had a list of injuries, but my will and desire stayed in tact and I have battled back every time. My dad has played a key role in my career and now works as my mechanic and team transporter driver. We have had a great relationship and racing has provided us with un-replaceable memories and experiences. Racing is a great family sport and with the addition of my wife Emily and daughter Prestin we have a winning team. If you surround yourself with good supportive people they will be there no matter what the struggle is, and make you the strongest person possible both mentally and physically.

I am considered one of the hardest trainers in the off-road motorcycle-racing world. I know what has worked for me to win 6 national championships, numerous national and international races and earn several gold medals in the international six days enduro. It has been a lot of work and dedication, but the things that I have learned from my hard work have crossed over into every aspect of my life.

Over the years I have spent countless hours in and out of the gym refining my training program to make me that much better than my competition. I always knew that I would never get beat because someone was in better shape. And now I am letting all that knowledge out to help you achieve your goals.

I have experience working with and training athletes of all ages and I can tell you the most important thing to remember, whatever training you decide to do, make it fun and exciting for you. If you don’t make it fun you will get burnt out and it will do you no good when you quit after two weeks of training. I have been able to maintain at top level because training is in my blood, I love to train and would do it even if I wasn’t competing.

I am not going to sugar coat it for you, it is a lot of dedication, will and drive to achieve the elite level of training. All the hard work is worth the satisfaction you get when your results match your expectations. Will you have the mental confidence needed when you show up to your competition on race day? If you are lacking that confidence, my riding schools will make sure that you do!!

I know I can help you achieve all of your performance goals and wish you all the best in your journey to be the best athlete that you can.
