Suzuki Out?

I heard a rumor that Suzuki is done. The quake/Tsunami hit them too hard and they were on thin ice to begin with. Any truth to this?
 
Hopefully just a rumor? Suzuki came out with this press release..."Suzuki Motor Corporation announced there is currently no reported harm to Suzuki’s personnel, headquarters or manufacturing plants located in the Shizuoka Prefecture region. The earthquake’s epicenter was located 240 miles north of Tokyo while Suzuki’s headquarters are in Hamamatsu City, which is 158 miles south of Tokyo."
 
I saw a thing last night saying this is the last year for the rm 2 strokes... that we cant get here,but you can over seas. don't know if there is any truth to it. i was hoping they would make a come back,guess not.
 
There are some loyal Suzuki guys on Pitracer, but in my opinion their quality is not even close to a Honda, Yamaha, and KTM.
 
I was a loyal suzuki guy for a long time.... but i do like my yzs now. just thought it would be nice to see the 2strokes make a come back from the big 4... hate to see suzuki drop out.

Heck, Sharc had to put yellow YZ plastic on just to fit in !
 
Nothing wrong with Suzuki quality, John has never even had one! I've had all brands, I think up until my recent run of building the RM museum Honda topped my list of most bikes I owned..... Honestly....one of the worst quality bikes I had was a 2000 YZ250! I had switched to that from Hondas, and after that bike I went right back to Honda! Haha!
 
I went from a die hard, loyal Yamaha owner to Suzuki this year and absolutely love it. I didn't really believe the hype about how bad they (yamaha) handle until I rode the Suzuki. I was looking for either Honda or Suzuki and couldnt pass up the price on the Zuke.

I'm a newbie around here, and this is probably going to "stir the pot" but non of the jap brands have been anywhere close to KTM for a long time now....but I will say they have gotten much better! But I am a bit biased seein as I've grown up on KTM's and my father went as far as to name me after them....

Haha. Oh that's good.

I hate KTM's, I don't know why...I guess it takes a specific type of rider..which I am not. They're just too wierd feeling for me, I just feel like the suspension stabs on me. Which I'm sure could be fixed. I haven't rode a ktm 4 stroke, that could be different I suppose. I was thinking about a ktm 150 or 300 and that's out now that I rode one.

Last Rm I had was in 01, I think that was the worst year for the bike, but I liked it as it was my first 125.

Never rode a kawasaki big bike. Took my Uncles Yamaha out for a spin and loved that.

I'm a big Honda guy, maybe my dad brainwashed me into that, ha..who knows, but I feel most at home on the red machines.

Dave, I've got no friends now, kind of like the old days when I used to be the only KTM at the MX Track.......... I just made the switch to a weirder brand than your Husqvarnas!!!!! Check Vet Forum for info!

Sharc... if your getting rid of the pig..... did you get hooked up on the the yz250 that was for sale on here???? And i know Rocket will rag on me but im one person that had really bad like with KTMS...
 
No YZ 250 hook-up yet,….. but I’m working on it!
…..and it’s looking more and more like I will be selling the pig….
After riding the Princess so much lately, the 450 just feels like a HOG to me.

Worst bike I ever owned was a 1986 RM 250, put two cranks in it in one year because the water pump seal rode on it and it wore a grove in the crank !

Probably my favorite bike was my first big bike, a 1981 RM 125. Loved that bike but it had a nasty habit of blowing a hole through the top of the piston !

Being the only guy at the track on Huskys doesn't gain me any friends either. You ride weird European bikes, I ride
weird European bikes. I'm #153, you are #163......atleast we have each other! hahahaha
