Best indoor track????

My son is going to race the Arena Cross series this year and I was woundering what indoor track would be the best to train for the Arena Cross style tracks?

NO ax track @ Hardrock, wouldn't suggest going there unless you want to practice freestyle

If your in NE Ohio look up NEMX. Try Circle T in central Ohio. Southern Ohio try Hot Rod's Mx and out west by Dayton try OMA.

Its more a question of which one is located within the distance you wish to travel than which one is best. Earlywine in Maysville, Ky is hard to beat.

Ram Jams in Lorain, Ohio is always a great indoor practice track. The way the track is set up, the beginners have as much fun as the fast high level guys. It's always a fun safe track with some of the best dirt you'll see anywhere and the track changes every month or so.

Thats probably my first choice as being closer to home, nice very fun and more informal track, AFFORDABLE, very safe for all levels and VERY well run, and bets of all, has been OTC certified as trike friendly!

It feels like an out door track trapped inside of a building. I love the place, minus the few dark spots here and there, but its a great place to ride during these wonderful Ohio winters. I have been to NEMX three times over the course of two years and every time I have been disappointed. The "prepped" track consisted of knotty jump faces and blue grove that surfaces that worked best if you had supermoto tires on. I gave the facility the benefit of the doubt, but going three different times and each time the track was in the same shape just really turned me away. It was a 5.5 hour drive for me one way, and I honestly wont go back there. Just my opinion, not that it matters, but I've been there and done that in this sense.

I agree ramjam was dark but they fixed that now and I know that was a complaint with many people but besides that I love that track also. I think nemx is cool to but cant comment until I ride the new track. I know ram jam always has the best prepped track

I rode nemxs new track this past weekend and I like the layout better than any of their other previous setups. My only complaint is there is nothing challenging jumpwise there that you can do differently than someone else(besides go faster ofcourse). Again I like the layout ALOT and it is good practice and fun forsure, but it's all doubles, tabletops, and small stutter whoops with no rhythm section thus far.
Last time I was at ram jams(couple years ago) there was some rad combinations you could make out of the rhythms, which may be your best bet AX wise in NE Ohio atleast. If you want good practice ride em all though!

@web. I've been to nemx many many many times and never have seen the prep you describe. What you must of really got there are 3 fluke days.

I mean ram jam is cool. I dont like the random poles everywhere, at least at nemx they're in one spot. As far as challenging....ram jam was challenging on the pitbike. I can see how people like longer lanes but to me an indoor is more challenging with more corners.

Personal preference is the major key evidently because I dont prefer ram jam.

I also like how nemx was built for mx and doesn't have a concrete floor so they can dig down quite a bit and give you slightly more dips and such than on a conventional concrete pad.

Last comment about nemx: the track was awesome the first year they opened. It sucked for a few years between 05-09 because there weren't any berms and you couldnt carry speed. That's all changed this year. The track is the best it's ever been and the prep is phenomenal. You get the arenacross feel and can carry great speed through the high berms.

Its possible, but the fact of having three fluke days doesnt say much for overall track prep ya know? I can ride most outdoor tracks 10 times and have one fluke day from wind, excessive mud, etc, but indoors with crappy conditions is rather inopportune. My personal preference is that I would rather drive 3 hours to ride a so claimed "decent" indoor track, than drive five hours to ride a track that has been crappy every time I've been there. Im a motocross guy to the core, so arenacross is always like being the wing man, fun to a certain degree, but at the end of the night you are going home alone without any digits. It is very possible with the new track changes that I have been hearing about at NEMX, that they make the place badass, but given the drive and previous bad experiences there, I would rather drive to Ram Jam. Just my thoughts.

Not sure what you are talking about "random poles" NEMX has a row of poles and so do we. Ours are bigger but don't come into play. Never had any one even "randomly" hit one. A couple people have fell over in a rut and dropped their bike on them or the padding on them I should say.

I would have to disagree about track prep from what I hear week in and week out all winter.

Like you said it is all personal preference. Every time our track or another track is changed there are people that like and dislike the changes. Go where you like.

By the way we have brand new lights and it's nice and bright now.

Open this weekend. Still have some more work to do on the track next week to get some of the options in like usual but it's good. Rife and Willard liked it anyway.

Very true, don't matter what you do there are always people who are going to complain. Just go out ride and keep the sport running. Who cares where you go.

Webbmx7... I have to say something here... Riding in doors is like Arenacross or Supercross.... Cause it's indoors.... Both tracks have a different feel, but that's nothing different than you will find outdoors either... But as far as the track prep goes at NEMX I will admit I'm a little confused... They work very hard each and every time to provide a track that is very well prepared.
And your comment about Arenacross being the "Wing man" and "going home alone with no digits"... Tells me that you have either never competed in Arenacross or if you did you didn't do every well...
Cause as a mom that has been to MANY Arenacross races and have seen how the girls go "NUTS" you are sooooooooooo wrong lol... No offense meant here ... Just my point of view....

@ webbmx7 - You think RamJam feels like an outdoor track trapped inside a building??? What POS outdoor tracks do you ride then??? RamJam is by far the worst track I have ever riden. I used to think Summit Indoors was a pretty crappy track, but compared to RamJams they are excellent.
