You know, unless the bike was gold plated, there's no chance in he11 I'd buy the 86 CR500 for $7995. They are't worth it, even new! All you can do with one that year is race it against newer bikes, or stare at it.
From what I've seen, the typical restoration by Vintage Iron runs $7k-$8k. Might explain the pricing. VI gets paid to restore for Primm, then buys them back at a discount, and resells at the restored rate? Pure supposition on my part.
