Tate Reed to fill in for Chad Reed for the remaining nationals
ce55d144b1c711e1a8761231381b4856_7.jpg

Chad Reed ‏<s>@</s>CRtwotwo No wonder motorcycles are not selling! If everyone's experience at a dealer is like <s>@</s>mrstwotwo and mine today.. We just walked out <s>#</s>joke

could you imagine the look on their faces when chad reed walks in to buy a bike? lol. that would be great.

The sad part is they probably didn't know who Reed was.....

yea no kidding. The salesman was probably like can I interest you in this nice CBR 1000RR? It's the sickest thing on dirt with knobby tires!

And in the vidoes above you see that Shane Durham looks like he's on one of Daryn's (i'd assume) practice bikes? I predicted that one earlier this year. I wonder how much different the practice bikes are vs. the race bikes.....hmm...

Stewart posted fastest lap time of the day in the 450's: 2:08.757 It was his last.
Alessi posted overall fastest practice qualifying time. (from start to finish)

How about Marvin Musquin? He posted a 2:08.740 !!! Fastest RIDER of the day on the lite displacement bike! A horrid, KTM at that! (Jokes) And people say KTM's are all junk! Pfft.

Im beat. but it was a good time. met mitch payton. pretty cool. he was in the middle of talking to people and still came over to me and didnt act bothered at all. seemed happy to talk. what an awesome person and such an inspiration. that was my highlight. 450 racing sucks. 250s are sick. people jumping RC double in practice. so gnarly. gonna see what happened with the 2nd 250 moto. missed the action from where i was. except saw barcia almost wad it hard in the downhill turning rollers. could have been ugly.

I liked the 450 action OK . Alessi really gutted it out trying for a win . Was Dungey just toying with him ? RD and the KTM looked dialed in for that track the first moto . 1st part of the 2nd moto his lines looked screwy at first but he finally settled in and stalked down Alessi . Weimer did better at staying in contact and guys like Short , Metty , Tickle , Millsaps , etc. were lurking .

Stewart . Do I dare give an opinion without being labeled ? There is no way any of us can know how bad he is hurting . Looked pretty good coming through the pack until the last part of the moto , to me . Fifth isn't bad with an injury . How many other guys are out there riding with or just recovering from an injury ? Quite a few . Dungey raced a while back with a busted up shoulder/collarbone and did well but took time off to get it fixed . Wonder what Reed and a tough SOB like LaRocco think ? In my opinion , he should have dialed it down a notch and tried to score points . Still probably could have gotten a top ten and stayed in the hunt . Lots of racing left and anything could happen . Dungey isn't a lock yet ; he could have a mechanical or injury . Gotta be in it to win it .

The 250 class is the best racing I've seen for ages ! So much talent , riding on the edge from the gate drop . Tomac's 2nd moto charge left even the " Chupacabra " and " Bam-Bam " and poor Roczen wondering what happened . Like his style .

I'm a fan of Highpoint. So wanna plan on going to Vet race this fall. You going Rocket? ;)

Anywho, yeah, 450's are not all that great, but so glad they run them before the 250's as all the non true fan's head out and it makes getting out of the place pretty good. Did seem as if something was wrong with Stewy as he seemed to hit a wall in his charge. Without him in the mix, it's a pretty boring class to watch. Kinda like when Stewy was the fastest man on the planet. ;)

250's are a blast to watch. I am thinking I am a Kenny fan. Was very bummed for him as he had a great lead until he fell. Tomac was by far the fastest guy out there taking whatever line he chose. Great racing. See ya at Steel City. ;)

I like Stewart, but his stock is dropping fast in my eyes. Seems the newness of the yellow bike wore off faster than I thought it would. He obviously could ride the bike as he finished 5th in moto one. I understand that he doesnt want to do long term damage, but at this point he is throwing in the towel. Add to that he is not getting paid and I think his team doesnt want him hurt for when they start throwing big money his way when the supercross season starts.

I think it could have been a different story if Yoshimura was paying him to ride the outdoor nationals this season.

Some photos from the pits if anyone is interested. Couple with me and the little guy getting some autographs. Not a photographer and pics were taken on a cheap ass digital camera. Have some more if anyone wants to see them I'll up them too

Seeing the picture of Big James there got me thinking. Everyone has always bashed on Tony Alessi (for good reason). Big James seems to be more involved and always there to say something to his sons also. Anyone know what team managers think of Big James? Parents need to be involved to an extent for sure. Good example would be Blake Baggetts father. You just seem to see Big James more than some of the other parents.

Parents off in the background supporting their offspring = good.
Parents in the forefront… in any capacity….= BAD!
