Ballance Race Report/ Results Posted
Great turnout all weekend, especially for mid-February. Saturday Practice was COLD!! Sunday racing was HOT!!
Temps Saturday said 36 but a NW howling wind made it feel like 20 all day, but a big turnout of riders braved the cold for practice and the track was in perfect condition. Just cold all day. New age only practice splits went over very well with all riders and new Vet only practice was a big hit. Less groups = more time on track. Each practice session was in 15 minute mark. Very safe day, lots of positive comments on new track design and as day went on a few riders pointed out a fix or two needed and John and Bill jumped on equipement and made each change. Big thanks to Youth 13-17 guys!!
Riders from 6 states signed up for Sunday Racing some from as far away as Michigan, the weather was much, much warmer and the sun was bright all day. Rider turnout was about average but the racing was nuts in all classes!! 8 ATV Pros and 7 Open A (Bike) Pros. Intense high action motos all day...Pro motos were 10 laps. And the biggest surprize of all happened right before gate dropped for M1 for ATV pros. Bill Ballance himself rolled up last on gate on a SUZUKI!! Yeah that's right the 9X GNCC Champ was a yellow bike!! He pretty much ran away with 1st moto victory even with a white flag mix-up that had the race go to 11 laps. Mike Mcgee and Dewayne Newton battled to finish with Newton edging out 2nd place.
In M2 Dewayne Newton took the Moto win and the Overall. The Open A Bike class was rocking all day but the class of the field was Logan Pfleiderer from Ohio who went 1-1. Trevor Tate from TN won a very stacked 250B and Collegeboy class.
Results are posted and the next event is March 16-17, 2013 when the Victory Sports ABC Series kicks off their year at Ballance MotoX Park. Factory Bucks for that event will be posted on Ballance web-site next week.
Thanks.
