Fact time again... This year they will be 7436 riders competing at the various LL regionals around the country. To get to that point we the MX family will have already sent $371,800 to the Coombs family in qualifier and regional fees... and they have not lifted a finger yet.
Then, those luck souls that make it to the "National" will contribute another $205,320 in Sign-up and $215,940 for entry fees... bringing us to a total of $793,060 FOR ONE RACE. of course that is not to mention all the money coming for the various sponsors, venders, Golf cart fees (That right there is enough to retire on).
If I sound jealous, that's because I am...
Now add the money from the GNCC series, tickets to Mt. Morris what were they $25 x 21,000 people = $525,000, the Promoters group, Racer X mag and on and on....
Tax records show Rita and Davy made 2.5 to 5 million selling magazines alone... Tim Cotter and Kerri Russell (Kerri and her husband own Sunday Creek, just so you know why they get a regional, Kerri is a Coombs) they made 500K to 1 million.
Now, I'm no tax expert, but ... I'm just saying, those are just numbers anyone can find on the interweb.
Just food for thought the next time you think about going to a Dark side event.
