Following another successful racing season, MX Sports Pro Racing and Alli Sports, a division of the NBC Sports Group, announce the 2014 schedule for the Mountain Dew ATVMX National Championship, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing.

Many of the series’ traditional stops will return in 2014, including Aonia Pass, Muddy Creek, Sunset Ridge, High Point, RedBud, Unadilla, and Loretta Lynn’s. Minnesota’s Spring Creek MX will return to the schedule for the first time since 2011, while two new venues (Ohio’s Briarcliff MX and Texas’ Freestone Raceway) will join the series for the first time.

The Mountain Dew ATVMX National Championship is the pinnacle of professional ATV motocross racing, attracting the world’s most talented athletes to compete on the country’s toughest and most scenic motocross tracks. The series will consist of nine Amateur rounds, and ten Pro Class rounds with the Freestone Raceway round acting as a “Pro points only” stop of the series.

“We are excited to bring Pro ATV Motocross back to Texas after seven years,” said ATVPG Director, Sam Gammon. “Freestone Raceway is a premiere facility and Tony Miller and his team are anxious to get started, “ Gammon continued. “We also want to welcome Briarcliff in Ohio. The venue is very ATV-friendly and the promoter a former ATV racer himself, so we know we will be in good hands there.”

“I am both extremely excited and honored to be hosting a round of the 2014 ATV Nationals. So much so, that I have already begun work on upgrades to our facility. I will work endlessly to make the ATV community proud of Briarcliff Motocross Park. I guarantee it.” — Jeremy Osborn, owner of Briarcliff Motosports Park

Reigning Pro Class Champion, SSi/ Wienen Motorsports/ Yamaha’s Chad Wienen, will be looking to defend his Mountain Dew ATVMX National Championship crown during the 2014 season against one of the deepest talent pools in series history. Thomas Brown, Joel Hetrick, John Natalie Jr., Josh Upperman, Jeffrey Rastrelli, Joe Byrd, and a slew of others will be gunning for the #1, which will only add to the excitement of the 2014 ATVMX National Championship series.

We got a long way to go, and a short time to get there........it's pretty awesome, but we def. have the most to prove.

The early part of next season will be crazy. We will still have some practice, but it's going to get slim after Memorial Day. The big downer is that I think the atv national is same weekend as high point (bikes). I don't get to pick the dates, I just have to soldier forward.

anymore, id rather go watch a quad nat than a bike nat. so if it falls on high point weekend, you know where ill be.. lol..

Yeah I know because saturday nights at a pro bike national aren't having the "dually2dually-hook-up" where they try to drag each others axles off. Those guys have some expensive competitions.

Better put in a concrete tug pad equipped with chains JO. And a big sign "Not responsible for flying truck parts after 9pm. "

baker, in all my years going to nats, ive drivin to every one in the morning. im talking about the actual racing. not night life. lol

LOL, I don't have to worry about that, flaming couches, flaming motorhomes, fireworks, or any of that crap. Riders police themselves at the ATV Nationals. Its more of a family deal, than college blow out. There is stark difference on Saturday nights between the two, that's for sure. I mean people hang out around the fire have a few beers and bs, but I don't think I have seen anything set on fire at an ATV only event. That being said, I have never seen the "dually2dually-hook up" at either one. Sounds like something dhds01 dreams about.......

Oh~ the stories from Mid-Ohio past.
It was the 70’s, we had good drugs, we had enough money and we had free time.
Anyone remember ripping around the impromptu circle track in the back field?
Bombing the trails?
The endless bottle rocket / Roman candle wars between camps?
The taping, then tipping and then dragging of port-a-johns.
Fire jumping? ….that got WAY out of control…ending up with no eyebrows or arm hair.
The mud pit for the 4X4 trucks.
….ah yes, it was the 70’s ……

You never been to pine lake then.

Oh I have heard the "boss" on the PA at 7:30-8:00 am. "wake up you drunks, practice is in a half hour"

Still, nothing like Kenworthy's , High Point, or Steel City. There are some stories from there you don't tell. The statute of limitations hasn't ran out yet.

Oof, I just had a thought and puked in my mouth...a happy thought... ;)

It was amazing what you could get in return for a pit pass.
After my first ever pro moto at Mt. morris I rode back to the pits. We parked next to the Suzuki trucks (Yes, back then factory teams drove box vans). The first thing I seen was a naked chic on Bob Hannah's shoulders... Now that is PRO moto.
Naked chics, motocross and beer.... Is this heaven?
