Its does not matter what the outcome was. The rules are written with a grey area. "Return to the track in the nearest, safest location without improving your position." I do believe 99% of the time that rule is ignored and I don't know why. If you only need to return in a safe manner, why not just get a hole shot and ride next to the track and miss every obstacle? You will never get tired or passed. Clearly the rule was written for rider safety (we don't want idiots riding the opposite direction) but it is being abused. How about making the rider come to a complete stop, then re-enter the track??? Behind everyone is the safest place to return.
I always like the right hand first turns. A little more technical and helps prevent the crazy dudes from riding the brake wfo.
