1987 lt 250r cylinder

I have a 1986 KXT250 cylinder. The LT250R would probably run better with it, but might be difficult to get it to fit. 
I would say "No" on still using it still without repair if it could be repaired.
If your a gambling man, bolt it up, hand kick it a few times to see if it catches or any noises are there a few times, if no, kick it lightly with your foot. If all good there, try kicking it strong a few times, if good there, try starting it. If at anytime during the process you hear engine noise, stop what you are doing immediately and pull the tether. Be prepared to have to buy a new piston kit and postentially a bottom end if all does not work out positively.
