Our 4th of July Race is fast approaching (7-4-14 is a friday) and we have some ideas to tweak the race a bit to get everyone done faster. We will have peewees running on the little track at the same time people are racing on the big track. We understand that some families will have multiple racers, so please make the girls at sign up aware so they can try to accomodate you when they make the race order. We will start the riders using the big track and after they have cleared the starting area/first turn, we will roll a fence out to enclose the peewee area and start the peewees on their track. We have chosen to try this at the 4th of July race because its our smallest race which gives us a chance to experiment a little and see what we can do to make a shorter day for everyone. Here are the details, feel free to ask questions! We will also have a lot more ice-cream and popsicles at the concession for this race ; ).
* 4th of July (Friday July 4th) gates open at 6:00 am.
* Gate fee is $10 for everyone racing and all spectators 10 and over.
* Everyone must sign in to enter the track.
* Sign ups will begin around 6:30 am
* If someone needs to drop something off for you, you need to be waiting for them at the gate, or they can leave it for you with one of the staff members at the gate the alternative is that they will have to pay to enter.
* We will be running CRA classes plus a few extra like pitbike, 125cc & "run what your brung" , there may be a vintage as well, other classes can be added if there is enough interest.
* There is a 10 person minimum for the "run what you brung class" 125cc and up bikes only for this class. The winner will recieve a 6 foot trophy.
* Sign-ups for racing will be in the building accross from the concession stand. Its $25 for the first class and $20 for each additional class
* First place winners can chose a T-shirt, Trophy or Smith Road Bucks, 2nd-3rd place winners can chose a T-shirt or Trophy. The trophies this year are different sizes according to place and very nice.
* Practice starts at 8:00 am
* Races start at 10:00am. We are planning to run 4 laps each moto.
* Kids will be on the peewee track from beginner 65 on down. They will run last first moto and first the second moto.
* Concession stand will be open for the entire race with cold treats and yummy food!
* You can come in Sunday to park your vehicle or drop your trailer but there is NO CAMPING for this event.
* There is NO pit-riding or bicycles allowed on race day, period! This will be enforced!

We are looking for flaggers. Anyone interested should report to the score tower at 7:30 am. All flaggers will get their $10 gate fee back plus $40 at the end of the day ; )

Also anyone ignoring a yellow flag will be penalized 1 lap no questions asked, we had a problem Memorial day with racers ignoring the yellow flag, this will be addressed before the racing begins friday but just wanted to post a heads up

I had a great time at the race yesterday. The weather was perfect. There were a couple bad accidents but I think everyone walked away. I appreciate the efforts of the Plas family and their crew. They made changes to make things safer and fun all day. The crowd was smaller than normal but the racing was excellent. Congrats to a few that I know. Greg Hansel went 1-1 in the 50+ class. His first win in a long time and on a new bike. It was a big win for him after all the health issues he's had in the past. One year ago his back was so bad he could barley walk. It was fun to watch Eric Klein come out and put on a show. Mikey Plas rode fantastic to go 1-1 as well. The young guy in 125 class was very fast and won two classes on the day. The number 24 in the mini class is a rider to watch in the future too. Trevor #104 won his mini class by half a lap, very impressive. Thanks for a fun day at the races.
