Larocco’s leap!

Now that red bud is here and gone would love to hear opinions on what you think the future of the jump should be. Over the yrs it gets narlier and narlier! The factory lights riders are not jumping it in consistency if at all , and it’s becoming pretty dangerous imo. I remember when bubba was hitting it on his 125. Would he be trying it now?? Highly doubt it. What’s the point of the jump? The spectators only sit there and watch it to see crashes. Guess I just don’t get it anymore. Is it going to take someone dying trying to jump it to tame it down or get rid of it?

Lites aren’t jumping it because it’s foot peg deep before it. They prep it to the point it’s almost impossible. And the landing is blind obviously and straight wall if you case it. Landing is also so steep that say you case it the drop on the back side of it your not riding it out

To me, its not the case that scares me. Its the bounce off of the top thats scary because the down side is so long and so far down. Noren demonstated the bounce this year. Mark fines tried it in first practice on a 250f and was a good 15' short and smacked the back side but rode it out.

Reading that AP says its second gear now. Burkeen as well ( same bike as us, he's got an ECU and 1 tooth up in rear otherwise stock). Makws sense because i used to hit it in 3rd when it was easy and in the old location. Now the run up is much shorter and rougher.

They just need to chop the landing to make it safer.

Freddie Noran and Josh Mosiman ate it hard over the leap this year. Who else? Im sure i missed a bunch of them.

To me the run up is much shorter. Hell, how do you even know how fast to hit it? The third jump is MUCH higher and steeper on both sides than it used to be. Now falling down the back side is a pretty good drop. Shorten it up, flatten it out and give it a huge landing ramp. Then guys come up short it's no big deal and the factory guys can launch as far as they want.

Thats the best part.. you just hit it as absolutely fast as you can.. lol..

It kinda used to be that way too. 3rd licked but i did ovet jump it a couple of times. Didn't die. Came up short back then too and didn't die. Lol..

Make the landing less steep and ill hit it even still. Its the bounce.....

At this point in your career, I suggest NOT hitting the leap. Not worth it. Too much to lose.

just needs more dirt on the landing and make it fall off slightly instead of immediate. When you double single the face of that landing is so big you can literally jump over that corner if you wanted to cause of how steep it is

Hell pros can't even get enough gas to get over it and come up short. Tells me no amateurs need to even be attempting it.

Pro day prep and amateur prep is different.

Amateur days seems like the run up to it is a concrete high way
That's definitely not the case the last couple vet fests. I feel like they intentionally super soaked that area. I was mud bogging through there 2 years ago lol.
