Where is PitRacer going?

Everyone can help PR. Quit lurking the forums and start a conversation on here.

Instead of wondering what, how, and why, people aren't using PR more, sit back and ask yourself why you dont post on here, or chat with us?!.......

If you can toss out a tweet, post on your wall, snapchat, Trivia Crack, and Clash of Clans why can't you take a minute to post a reply and talk with us here.

(PS. Im pointing fingers at everyone that has been a member for over a year and has less than 10 posts.)

Maybe the conversations are not worth replying to?

Thats completely fine too Pasimp. Alot of these threads I dont open more than the first time.

I guess if the OP asked how to make Pitracer more $, I would have been driven to a different mindset.

I have never really gotten involved in the forums as a form of chatting... I see them more as chat rooms that are valuable for some people to shoot the breeze or maintain friendships - whatever the case may be. In the Spring, Summer, and Fall, I consult PR about every weekend (or someone who I will be going to the track with) to see what tracks have posted and what the conditions will be. I usually check Facebook for briarcliff updates because they are usually quickly updated there and I check Route 62 Instagram because he is one of the only I know of who utilizes that app and I love being able to see what you are walking in to.

I did not start this thread to become more involved in the forums. I started the thread to get opinions on how to develop other aspects of PR that will engage younger audiences, those looking to use unique aspects of PR that aren't offered elsewhere, and to broaden the horizons of the forum junkies (bash away).

All of your feedback has been very helpful, but a lot of it has been accusing others of their lack of participation in the forum and asking them to give more of themselves.. The reality of modern advertising, and consumerism as a whole, is that PR has to be the best, easiest to find/use/navigate, the most interesting, on the most social medias, etc. It has to have all of these things that every one of you has suggested. Life is change and innovation. I think it is possible to take all of these opinions into consideration, but it is impossible to please everyone.

To answer your question... I most likely will not frequent the forums in my spare time... but rather spend that time researching where other mx sites are attracting users and interest (as I have been doing more so recently), spending that time seeing what exactly PA, Ohio, and other mx areas want in a catchall mx website. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.. If you never post on the forums and think they are clique the clique will never unclique... if the tracks continue to use facebook and not PR, but you never raise your voice, the track owners will continue to post to facebook... If we do not advertise PR further to new audiences, NONE of this will change at all.... so I guess, to even further answer your question, I have decided to end the strand of insanity and be the change I want to see in the mx community. It won't happen overnight.. but it will happen..
PR is fortunate to have you helping with the site.

You have the right attitude...be the change you want to see.

I hope the best for you (us.)

Ok so we had some really good ideas and a few terrible... I will let you decide what is what.
Is anything going to change?

Back in the day we had "discussions" that got Mitch Payton to post here.
Mitch is still sore from not getting the 2014 LLs most handsome mechanic award. It was close.

Thanks to this thread we have a new social media page on instagram (as seen in the footer). Thanks to this thread promoters can now post on here and to twitter and facebook with one click. You had some great ideas. I'd love the interview idea and the tech tips. I've always wanted to keep better track of our local pros somehow. Let's have some good ideas how to solve these ideas.

Chuck, have you ever thought of doing some video coverage (this is where Devin Mistak might come in) of some of the local races or maybe even some of the arena cross, to attract more people to pitracer? I wish there was a place to go and watch all of the arena cross races.

Arenacross has coverage. I just watched rd 1 on my tube. What is missing is local coverage. I've never even seen a program at a local race. You have to take pics of the race order sheets just to know what's going on.

Chuck, but not good coverage!!!!

Do you think a hard copy program would be better or an electronic version? Most old dudes like myself like a piece of paper that you can duct tape to the inside of the trailer door. This younger genteration with their instbook, facespace and dungarees like to have it on them sorry phones...
Seems like a great place to sell some advertising space.

Kinda morphing into "Where is local racing going" but on the same note as a program. Some local tracks have started using a low watt radio station for the race day announcer. I really like this idea. I would think this would be a great selling point for advertisers. Commercials could be sold for between motos and even announcements of class sponsorship. You have a captive audience with all the same interest with money in their pocket... I smell a cash cow.

Get the word about pitracer out where it counts.....Ive got ideas, many ideas. Will discuss with you.

There's an opiniated wack job from newark that loves the sport, and would probably draw some interest on a motocross related podcast......not me. The other wack job. I don't know if he'd do it though. How about Smith? He loves talking and letting it fly? Just give him a microphone = fat kid in a candy store the day after Halloween.
