A good portion of these were taken from the tower with my new 150-600mm. It sure cuts down on the hiking around the track.

Holy camera set up Batman!

bought my girlfriend a sony and everytime she snaps photos the majority of them are focusing on the background and the riders are blurry. She set it to action mode. And for a point and shoot it's supposed to be a decent camera.

Unfortunately I can't help with point & shoot cameras but if you can manually choose shutter speed pick something between 1/500- 1/1000 and it might produce better results. If she wants to try a SLR and you see me at the track just ask. As long as I'm in my car I have 5 or 6 camera bodies with me and would be happy to loan one out. Everything is insured for replacement value so no worries.
