Cool product alert. Tear offs.

Do you put any thought into tear offs? Do you wish there were other options other than what the big dog goggle companies sell (that are typically all made by the same tear off supplier. Theyre like big pharma of the tear off world lol).

Well, I found a solid company. By happenstance I met this company (owners name is Tom) by needing tear offs for my armatics at BC. I liteally have no affilation other than BS'n at the track. I ended up talking with the owner for quite some time. There is so much more to tear offs than meets the eye. The el cheapos moose or whoever sells aftermarket has been about a joke for me. Crinkled in package or already scratched, which, alot seem to scratch if you even breathe on them.

This company is called Vampire tear offs. I believe ive seen the logo here before but didn't think much of it, so I'm glad I met the dude in person. His tear offs are a little unique. They have a scratch resistant coating on them. Im super picky about my vision, so ill constantly try to swipe a spec away instead of wasting a tear off. Typically this just leads to a scratched tear off and I pull it quickly anyway. His coating I believe is part of the adhesive that holds the laminates together. He developed this idea for lots of other uses, like inside media blasting cabinets, but has now applied it to our world. Not only is it scratch resistant, he has the "pressures" figured out. Alot of times Ive accidentally pulled my whole stack because they were so stuck together. The possibility of sometimes pulling a tear off with hulk hogan arm pump and accidentally grabbing too much is always there. However, I have had it happen on a "good" pull with no arm pump, likely due to the adhesive. Vampires tear offs pull with very little effort from one layer to the next.

He can also MAKE you tear offs for ANY goggle if you send them to him. Hes got the system down. I actually had my 6d goggles at the race but couldn't wear them because I didn't have tear offs. Well, now I do and he has a solid template for 6d tear offs. Which by the way, im really starting to like the 6d goggle. Odd feeling at first with nothing touching above my eyebrows like ive felt the last 30 years, but no issues so far with sweat or dirt. Visibility is obviously awesome in them.

I am a fan of cool s**t, and mom n pop small business. This outfit is both. Middle of Ohio good ol boy with extensive knowledge in his choice of business. Hes priced extremely well too, so thats a bonus because dang these things got expensive! Lol

Ps, I typed this on vital, but figured all you regulars could benefit from cheaper, and mo better tear offs too.

Met the same guy at briarcliff, was parked close to him. Went over to ask if he had tear off for the heatwave goggles, and he didn’t but told me if i could lend him a pair he could make them! I bought some cheap dragon goggles from ironpony before the first merp race and looked to see if they had tear offs there for them, and they’re made by vampire. Great tear offs, priced cheap too. Some tear offs i get vision blur from when i stack 3 or more on the goggles, but with his i get no weird blur from them.

That is an interesting point. I've actually switched away from laminated tear-offs because for me I have to tear them so perfectly or else they will tear off ones underneath also and leave me with a flapping stack. I realized they are so well laminated together that the force to tear them apart many times exceeds the force needed to pull the whole stack off of the posts!

Next time I need some I'll give Vampire a try. https://vampiretearoffs.com/

That was why I typically used singles as well. He has some things in the works too, all while staying cheaper than everyone else. Perimeter tear offs and potentially 3 or 4 stack laminates.
