The Return of OIR Racing

had this on the calendar for a while, but my back gave out about 2 weeks ago and has shown no signs of getting any better. i dont think i cna physically get a leg over my bike at the moment.

sooo pissed.

May come out with the 125 and put in a few laps.. not much motivation.. feeling tired and old any more.. way easier to just get on the street bike and go for ride any more for me..

Bad timing for me. Anniversary as well as my FIL's bday (who passed a couple weeks ago, but might be a rough day for my wife). Place looks good all dressed up.

Hoping for some full gates like it used to be! If the weather holds up I think this will be the biggest local race in quite some time.

Only rode oir in 2014, once for the OMA race and then for the pro day where Noreen lapped almost all of us in A class lol. I didn’t really care for the track tbh. Personally felt like malvern was a better track and had better flow.

Freddie cooked everyone that year. Impressive ride! Then shortly after (maybe years?) went over too PVR and did the same thing. The PVR race was the Slusser memorial if I remember correctly.

I was there that day too, Freddie put on a riding clinic. I remember watching him and his bike wasn’t even reving, like he was a gear taller than everyone else… cool to watch!

Here’s a pic I found from that day, 40+ Class start:

I am.

Herrlein, Karnow, Hand, Nethings, Gaski, Gallo, Bair, Henry, Harbaugh, Ditcher, I could name em for days with enough thought. So much speed has been through those gates.

Me being 12-15 years old. Going to OIR was the highlight for me, it was the candy van of my generation.

That looks like the van Dave Perek showed up in. Aka PekStar. Aka Dave Ward. Aka Pecker. Aka stole his mom’s van to ride at NEMX and snuck in and didn’t pay then knocked himself out and almost got arrested.
