Spring Creek, Millville Regional

Well we have made it to Minnesota! At the hotel now, heading to the track soon to get parked and drop the trailer.

Of course it rained much of the way up here and there is now a chance of showers every day for the Regional!

Now I'm starting to think you're the reason it rains every time I go to Red Bud!!!

You're right, there was no rain at Red Bud for the regional without Pitracer there! Maybe we should start a fund to keep Pitracer at home for Vet Fest to keep the rain away for the first time in at least 5 years!

First off, I wasn't at the Red Bud Regional but I've been told it rained all night long there before the race.....so it's not my fault!

Anyway, we made it to the track today to get signed up and drop trailers. Amazing how much water damage there is at the track -- huge rain ruts and sections where you can see all the dirt was washed off the track and down to the bottom.

They were doing major dozer work while we were there getting it all fixed back up. Track is all very sandy so even with wet weather it should be much better than High Point after the rain last week.

Inside the signup building they have a lot of cool memoribillia and photos. Lots of Donny Schmidt stuff.

Sharc went from all smiles at the pit stop to frowns when he stepped in a shoe-sucker while walking the track! Of course that was his only pair of sneakers for the trip...

Zman did the same thing at Thunder Valley last year with the boys and we had to go to Walmart and get him a pair of "Waldidas"! He loved those shoes and still wears them to the track all the time! Track looks cool, let's hope the crew gets in race shape for you guys and you can finally have some fun!

We all survived practice though Double D and I both got eaten by the whoop monster. Me, I was trying to avoid another downed rider and did a 3mph Zman stupid tip over that twisted my bike, broke my handguard, and wrenched my already tweaked shoulder.

Double D fell in the turn after due to pure exhaustion.

The track is pretty gnarly. It's smaller and tighter than I think we all expected, lots of turns. Boy did it get rough.

The first straight of whoops actually aren't whoops for us. It's a super deep sand straight that turned into horrendous whoops in all different directions. The second straight was actually easier because they were built into defined whoops.

Salamon947 put in some good practice motos and turned some good times. Going to eat, more later.

the whoop monster grabbed me and pulled me down.
the zook is awsome. nees to string a couple laps together.

Some pics from today.

do you have any difficulty jumping back and forth from 2 to 4 stroke pit? Looks like you were riding that 125 and then the other the 450...Hope your weekend goes awesome. Dirt looks delicious.

That shoe sucker is funny, Don't care who you are. Looks like a real good time, the track will be awsome for the race. Have fun.

looks like the weather is holding out for you up there!! seeing some blue sky back drops there!! good luck to all you guys, good starts make the biggest difference!!

I blew it big time.

34 guys in Vet B and I ripped a great start coming around in 8th and got sucked up in one of the dreaded first lap chaos spots with a dude that fell in front of me about 3/4 of a lap in. I was jacked there and got going basically in last. Second moto I went out just to see where I could finish and once again got a good start, running 10th, right before crossing the finish line for third lap I crashed all on my own coming down a hill and was stuck in a big mush pile on the edge of the track. Bike was all twisted so I just headed back to straighten it.

Just a bummer.

It rained most of the day. But just a light steady drizzle and since the track is sand it really didn't hurt the track much. Kindof slick in areas. Toughest thing was that it got so rutted and rough many of us could barely even make it around the track. I felt like a trials rider out there, or a kayak racer since I was paddling so much. There is a switchbacky S-turn section in the back that was so deep with ruts it was insane.

The run an awesome program here, much like Red Bud. No dicking around, the click everything off like clockwork. Also interesting was they ran 4 lap motos for the first set to get through all the heat races and then switched it up to 5 laps for the 2nd and 3rd motos. They got totally through 2 sets of motos today so we just have to clip off 17 motos tomorrow and will be done.

Oh well, I will post some pics later. Randy947 is in some crazy tough classes but is riding great. Double D and I have had some good battles passing each other while the other one is on the ground eating sand.

Watched the live scoring and saw that you took a dirt nap in the first heat. Keep up the good work ...lady luck and a few prayers may be what you need for some great 3rd motos....we will be praying for you guys to keep it on two wheels and ride your best tommorrow. Goooo Ohioooo. Now off to the hot tub for me!
