A1 Supercross

I thought the grates were a good idea at Mini-O's until we got all of the rain and then mud. You had to have a scrub brush to get down thru all of the mud just to find the grate. Rules also state you cannot use a brush that has wire bristles, must be nylon. And they did have officials checking, at least one stopped me and wanted to see my brush.

I am sure they won't have that problem with mud at the Supercross races due to the amount of races run vs. an amateur race.

So Pape has launched from one and gives a nod - anyone else?

Did they give you a practice try - or just line up and have at it?

Change the start all u want, the racing will still be boring!!! When all the top guys are doing the exact same rythmn in the jumps the only way to make up time is in the corners and whoops!!! If u look at a lot of the whoop sections there becomes 1 fast line, boring!!!!!! As far as the privateers having the same traction as the factory guys, I'm gonna have to disagree! Yes the tires are all the same, but u don't think the factories are running an advanced traction control system? I was so excited for the 1st race and was bored 10 mins into watching it!!!

I don't know ....I enjoyed A1

The 450 race I watched had multiple lead changes.

The guy that everyone says is the fastest (and wants it the most)- ripped the holeshot and was walking away only to crash all by himself and then turn into some kind of turd and pull off.

This other guy was busted up pretty bad from last year (some said he was done) but he was able to come back and be competitive.
Not a great start but he worked his way through the pack pretty cleanly. Bested many a man that didn't have 11 surgery's this past year.

One of the favorites crashed out early and never came back out.

Some old dude with a broken foot was almost able to stay on the lead lap.

A fill-in rider that many had written off had a great night and stuck it to most of the factory boys.

.....and the guy that's been consistently strong - won.

I found it pretty interesting that after Tomac had to latch his pants he actually had to kick start his bike! Can't believe the green don't have electric start!

It is always a little crazy at the first race of the year, guys haven't seen anyone other than the guys they are training with, and really aren't sure how good their set up is working. Now they have the split timing of sections to try out different lines and see what is fastest and then string together all the fastest ways through each section over the whole track into one lap and get the fastest time, but somehow they missed that triple after the finish line that Bowers took on camera which was clearly faster line....... but no one was doing that. Tomac will have his bike figured out by the half way mark (just like last year) and then go on a late season tear...... but giving up this week may hurt him again if Musquin can be consistent like Dungey always was and keep the bleeding to a minimum when Tomac gets it figured out. Roczen was good after having a ground beef arm for the last year. He has the talent to run up front, but I'm not sure his arm can hold out in the event of a crash..... he has to be smoother than ever and not ever hit the deck, which may slow him down just enough to not be winning everything. Anderson always starts the season off well and you think he is going to be one of the top guys for the new year, but then he has a terrible race in one of the first three races after A1, and you wonder if its the same guy. Barcia was the big surprise for me...... he hasn't been that fast for quite some time, and it was good to see him be happy to do so well. When the gravy train finally ends, it seems that he might have figured out that he has been wasting his talent and needs to put in the work. I expected more from Baggett than he showed, thought he might be a top 5 guy, must still be outdoors specialist. Weston Peick is good, plain and simple.

So far, so good in SX, we might have a good season on our hands if we can get them to keep mixing up the results.

They allowed you to launch off of them for your practice came off half throttle thinking I would spend like concrete bout stalled my motor on the gate I was coming out almost full throttle every time after that

I am going on a Knox rant. Why not make the tracks have some tougher sections that have people doing some different things? There were no wall jumps this week. No sand sections, the whoops are measured the same as every other week. Why not take and make the whoops off set from each other. So you cant just peg the throttle and use your factory suspension to skim across the tops. The track was very boring in my opinion. Like someone else said, every rider in both classes were basically doing the track the exact same as the next guy. Look at the qualifying times and it tells you everyone is dong the same thing.

Just not working. I dozed off during the 250 main, and woke up and watched the 450 main.

I bet Tomac & Wilson think the track was tough enough.
K-Roc almost ate it too.
They're made simpler early in the season. For a good reason.

I miss the 450 semi races, it was alot more racing to watch, now we get more commercials :(. I didn't realize how bad roczens arm was that thing will give him problems the rest of his life on the podium it looked worn out and just laid against his body. I just hope he doesn't hit the deck trying to prove his determination to everyone to be back on the top step, that could get ugly quick.

I noticed his arm during the podium interview. He never really moved his arm and the way he held the Monster Energy can was awkward, almost like he wasn't gripping it.

It made his results that much more amazing and like you I hope when he crashes it doesn't mess him up even more permanently.

His hand just looks weird. Almost like it would have no grip.

I agree. I really worry about when he hits the deck again with that arm.

the way he held the Monster Energy can
Not to be critical but he's a Red Bull rider. But I do agree it looked funny, almost like a manican's arm holding the can. Still very impressive to come back like that. I picked him to win that race after hearing RC talk about how impressed he was with his riding. Several years ago I had a bad arm break. After healing up I thought I was riding better, or should I say smarter than before. I hope he stays healthy, he is good for the sport.
