So we went to Silver Dollar over the weekend. If you had never heard of Covid19, you would not have known it existed. 976 entries. Almost 1900 including Saturday practice. I was talking to Matt Walker, he said he thought they would have a large crowd, but figured around 500. He never dreamed it would be almost double that. Saw two people all weekend wearing masks. No one social distancing, people enter acting with each other. Just a normal day at the races. The sheriff's deputies did tell you where to park.
As for the track, it was great. Tons of fun, has a huge booter in the middle for those looking for serious airtime. They did a good job on a 90 degree day to keep moisture in it, and it was never what we would call muddy here. It is a sand clay mix, with really just one long straight that is a true sand section. The facility is at a drag strip so it is like being at Chilitown with paved roads, and tons of level grass parking. The have a few hook ups also, and water stations to fill up with water.
Heard Justin Brayton had a race in Iowa over the weekend, and it drew 1400 entries. So obviously people are itching to get out and do some racing.
