So my pops' retirement gig is running those large private dumpsters around.
Well he calls me yesterday and says hey you need to come up to the consolidation yard. That I needed to bring my truck and take my bed cover off... I like yum why??
He goes well I just pulled a dirt bike out of a dumpster. I'm thinking I don't need some Chinese pit bike project, when he goes I think it an old kawasaki 125. Come check it out and run the Vin to see if it's stolen or if some one just got tired of it being in the way in the garage.
So I got off work picked the boy up and off to meet up with papaw. Pull up and here sits a 1993 kawasaki kx 125.
Dad comes out of the excavator and says well its not seized up, but didn't feel like much compression, and I broke the handle bars getting it out of the dumpster.
I checked for a Vin, all the numbers are there, run it and it nothing comes back on it. So up in the truck it goes.
Boy and I get it home and start washing and tearing it apart. Plastics were painted a lighter shade of green so it goes flying everywhere. It has a little compression, plug actually looked good, but I put a new one in it. Air filter crumbles when I touch it. Carb looked good when I cleaned it. There's a pro circuit header on it with a few small dents, frame has been painted a grey color.
Tonight I'm going to put some fuel in it and see if she has enough compression to fire.

Plan is to slowly rebuild it as money allows and let Logan try it in some vintage races, and use as a play bike for me.

Way long over due project up date.
I need to get the cylinder replated so its sat in a million pieces all winter long, i have had the frame, subframe and swingsrm powder coated for forever, just laying in the garage.

Well riding season is upon us and I need my lift, where the motor has been sitting for 6 months so I moved the motor and put the bones back together so I can atleast roll it around out of the way.

This is what I eventually plan for it too be.

Ordered a new bolt kit, pc 304 silencer, exhaust springs and foot peg springs.
Got the air box and gas tank washed up and shining. Cylinder went to the shop yesterday.

Any one know some one on ohio that can get some dents out of the pc exhaust? They aren't huge but I wild like to get them out, with out shipping it.

Got some parts in while I was at a work conference.

First silencer they sent was mis packaged and for a 250. Got it sent back and the correct one showed up today.

Mounted up plastics and the foot peg springs with ims pegs.

Waiting on the cylinder to get back still.

Now to take and sell some photos this weekend so I can order the graphics and seat cover.

Still waiting on the cylinder.

Graphics and seat cover finally made it.

Trying to find spokes so I can tear the wheels apart, clean them up and powder coat the hubs silver to match the sub frame and swingarm, and powder coat the rims gold or silver in not sure which yet.

Trying to find some frame guards also.

Buddy offered to let me use the vapor blaster at his shop so when I do the hubs I'm going to do the brake calipers also to get the grime off of them.

Looks sick. Been wanting to do up a vintage bike and race vintage days cause I’ve never been. Don’t really wanna put 4k into a bike I race once a year though

Thanks didn't realize spokes are so expensive lol
LMK if you dont find them in your price range. I offer the HD stainless for $100/wheel.

Anodize them gold or powder silver, the 'gold' powder effect will not be as appealing as the anodized look in the reference pic. There is a guy in medina who gave me some stellar pricing options before (pre-covid).
