Understand what you’re saying but sometimes these events can be a huge benefit to the track. Adding those additional classes is a huge money maker. It’s no small feat to put on an event like that. If the track added an additional 150 riders and 400 extra spectators plus camping fees etc that could be huge for the track. Or it might help them break even.I have one problem I think Mx sports could fix about area qualifiers. Area qualifiers should not have local races running in conjunction in the same weekend. For example whole point of Sunday is it’s all the vet and for the most part big bike classes. They had 13 extra classes which included some really slow classes like 2 50cc classes, 2 D classes, and 2 beginner 65 and 85 classes. So basically added over an hour to a day we could have been done way earlier. I just think Mx sports should say you can run support classes on Saturday for people racing Sunday but besides that no series or local races should run the same weekend. Also remember at log road a few years ago they ran every local class along with the area classes and didn’t finish till 8 on Saturday I raced with it being damn near dark and 7 something on Sunday
And you need to think about the turnout of the vet riders. Some might not show up for weather reasons or maybe they qualified in another area. So there is a potential of people not showing up. You need to account for that. If you normally get 30 riders to a vet class… you might get 20 for various reasons. You need to create a buffer and that’s what support classes do.
