W.T.M. - Weekly updates

Tried to ride outside this past weekend and just wasn’t in the cards sand or not the snow still didn’t melt and was only going to get worst. Ended up getting to 62 late but felt great by far best 62 layout I’ve rode this year. Wasn’t crazy technical or anything just had good flow. Will say my only complaint about 62 is I got there at 12 and got in three sessions before 4pm and only got three cause I snuck out in one. So even if you get there at opening you will only get 4 sessions maxed which is crazy but there was 10 sessions. I know indoors some say is a bad investment but when every weekend they have 10 sessions between all bike sizes the ROI has gotta be there
 
Hit ramjam last Weds then 62 both Saturday and Sunday. Gave my kid the choice after Saturday's ride as to which one she wanted to ride Sunday. I think it's safe to say people of ALL skill levels like the current 62 layout. It was very fun for an indoor. Couple decent sized safe jumps. I did get there at near opening and got 4 rounds in. Met a cool new to the sport dad/daughter. You just dont meet people like that at softball/basketball where my kids been hangin. Lol. I only have one nitpick and its how slick the corners get. Im not sure if its a too much moisture thing or just from the freezing temps we've come out of. Ramjam was fun too but the one section by the window was just a little too short and peaky for big bikes for me. Little bikes fit fine but every lap i got the rear end kick butt pucker lol.

Got my 3 rides in and now the wheels are off to smoothspeed for some fresh dunlops for Daytona.

Follow-up...As expected, the place was packed. The track owner posted that they had 317 riders.
Open ride from 10-11:30, then sessions began. They had 6 groups. A/B, C, D (no jumping) and
3 small bike groups. Thankfully, no Vet group (worst verbiage ever). The first round went ok.
During the second, they black-flagged the A/B group to separate those who were not A/B riders.
The same thing happened during the second C session. It's my opinion that the track was almost
to the point of having too many riders. Based on that, I made the decision to end my day early.

It was a fantastic day weather-wise, and I understand everyone wanted seat time.
Fast guys don't want to be bothered by slower riders, and C & D riders don't want to get jumped on.
Is it time for stickers at track entry, where you pre-announce the group you intend to ride with?
Your thoughts?

Couldn’t agree more. At least when I’m at eastfork I’ve had so many sketchy moments with slower riders that if I feel someone shouldn’t be out there I will straight up tell them it’s a danger to all us not jumping s**t. Been taken out multiple times by slower riders and worst part is they try to race you when you pass the for literally one section. Scott and Phillip are usually good about pulling people off who don’t belong out there but like you said they are a danger to everyone going faster
 
Not sure I'm into this whole "one thread" stuff here....but.

I went to Skyview Raceway in Lisbon Sunday. Somehow, no idea how, I lucked into seeing they were open Sat and Sun on FB for trails and track. It sounded good enoungh so I went Sunday.

It was crowded and lots of woods guys that I immediately saw were covered in mud. The moto track was really nice in the higher spots but total swamp in the lower corners....I took special 55+ lines across the grass to avoid all of those.

Nice to ride though and it was nice and warm!

I did see that on Facebook.. thought about going but everyone know I don’t like to get my bike muddy… lol. How is that place John. Would like to try it out when it gets dry out.
 
Joe it's pretty fun. I've actually raced a CRA race there before when they first built the MX track, which is basically the exact same now.
