Eli Tomac

Ok, a couple weeks ago i took some back lash for stating that Eli Tomac was a head Case. I am standing by my comment. The guy is a head Case. He is the new bubba Stewart. Fastest man on the planet for a lap, and crashes or falls over and to the pits he goes.

He and Kawasaki have more "mechanicals" than any team out there that prevents their rider from continuing after a fall over. Last night.....his grip was ripped off and the bike was twisted up. Anyone ever have a wire tied grip come off in a first turn get off? Guess the end of his grip was ripped so he couldn't continue on.

If anyone should know every point counts. I even told my son this back in December. He won the school boy class in the buckeye series by 1 point. I told him, remember this. That one position in a moto in June that you don't think is a big deal....come November, it can be a big deal.

Guess Eli needs some serious counseling in my opinion. He needs someone like dungey to teach him how to win championships.

Yeah I want a ticket on the tomac is a head case train. I also want a ticket on the roczen is a bone head train, threw away a shot at a title because he got stuffed (barely) the turn before. BONE HEAD. STAMP IT.

Anderson must have stole the dungey playbook from his locker, good for him I really like the guy.

How about Justin Hill?! Give him a real supercross track and he puts up results, I was getting worried about all the bad press for JGR.

I haven't researched as to why he didn't ride, but if a grip came off, I don't blame him. No way I'd try to ride a supercross track with no grip and everything bent up. He's so far out of the championship, why risk further injury.

This is only my opinion on this incident. Couple other times he's quit, I didn't understand.

How does a grip that is glued and wire tied come off? I can imagine a factory mechanic does everything possible to make sure a grip does not even twist. I read on another page, that was the excuse.

Gee, look at Roczens arm, hand shoulder. All it takes is contact with a spinning rear tire or chain. Pretty easy really.

You bike goons really need to get with the times and start using the lock on ODI grips....glue?......wire?.....WTH?

You don't need to glue them anymore grandpa, its not 1985.

Old style Renthal grips - no wire

Well then they have it coming.......alert the media......crashes due to antiquated grip design and installation can be avoided. The KTM team uses ODI......no grip related injury crashes there.

if you watched the race you would have seen that his bike was dragged along by another bike with the throttle wide ope so i imagine it got messed up pretty good

That's it. I figured it out. His problem is solely due to the fact he runs a full waffle.

I do love the emig lock ons. The wrong grip gives me arm pump (pillow tops, pillow top lites, full waffle anything, thick pro grips). Guess I'm not used to that extra girth. Lol.

I hate tie wire.

Clearly it’s the mean green machine gremlin. A mystical creature, unseen to the naked eye. Only does it appear (invisibily) after contact with or Into the ground....thus rendering the green bike unridable. So what else is Eli to do? It’s unridable, take it back to the truck strip all those brand new parts off it, throw them in the trash and start fresh again next week, just don’t let that damn bike tip over before qualifying on race day...or the whole process repeats. It’s Tough over there at the kawi rig. And from what I gather Eli and Kawasaki might of passed on a gremlin to Webb and Yamaha. Give Webb a few more weeks to figure out that kicking the front wheel in the mechanics area won’t shake the invisible gremlins, soon enough he will just ride it back to the truck after he hits the ground. Hopefully barcia doesn’t get infected. Doug Henry probably strokes out when he watches these guys crash and leave the track before the checkered flag comes out.

All of us have raced a moto with bent bars, or a twisted front end. Hell after a lap your kind of used to it and adjust for it.

When every point counts I just don't get it at that level.

Funny you used Reed for the picture of knarly, Reed never gives up, toughest guy ever to race IMO ( I know you dont care about that ). Hell, he isnt even supposed to be walking on his foot yet and he is racing! Reed wouldnt have quit, RC, Dungey ( did I say that one? ) ... none of them. I love Tomac but I have to agree with John259 on this one, Im cringing at that but I do. I see your point to about not needing the points but he is getting paid to race. If the grip was indeed missing then I get it too.
