The moto hot stove is heating up quickly.

Well.... Thats one perspective. I remember the days when Mr. Osborn was more concerned with the state of our sport than he was with building "his" organization. If he is so concerned with being fair to the organization then state the financials to the members. Allow the members to have a voice outside of pitracer. Give the promoters within the organization the chance to vote on what's best for changes and such. Don't preach what is fair or not when clearly you are not a man of reason.

I'm not looking for a debate or an argument so I'll leave the BS to someone else. CTMX isn't cherry picking anything. Our goal has been to bring the best events we can to the state of Ohio for the sake of the sport.

I can promise one thing though, CTMX will be top notch as always for 2018.

Things change Joe, I’m trying to what’s right for the group. I’m leading a group as best I can. Best of luck in 2018

I'm unbiased.

Any sanctioned series should be done so by/at a track within the sanctioning body. My personal opinion. Bye Felicia. Did I seriously just say that part? Brain freeze. Just came in from moving snow for the first time this year.

Sounds like a case of being too big for the britches and leaving mama bears place. Will this be like an 18 year old who ends up coming back home after moving out? Could. Ultimately, the OMA organization helped and supported ctmx into what it has become. Bit that feeding hand right off eh.. hands are just warming up.. brr..

Someone got it right. I don't really care.

I need a bike and I need to ride.

Hold up. Question. Could anybody possibly agree as to when the sport of Ohio motocross was at its strongest? I feel like 2002 through 2004 seem to operate pretty well. How was districts 11 and districts 12 able to sustain ?

My annonnymous sources have expressed to me a lack of democracy within the sanction. Owners and promoters may be considered to be part of the group, however their opinions aren't considered within the sanction. More or less, the group's leader is a dictating individual.

The idea of a single state series would be enticing for certain. Surely, a percentage of keyboard warriors and also the quiet abuiding participants would protest any idea. But perhaps a board of elected officials should be a governing sanction over any and all AMA recognized facilities interested in hosting races.
No single individual would prosper or rule over any other within the sanctioning board of elected officials.

Alot of people have been on their way out. Eyes have been opened, the OMA business plan is not giving back as it was initially pitched to everyone. Phase 1 is me having to pay a $25 membership fee, then pay another $25 to have a plaque made that I earned as an overall award. Everyone attending the banquet must buy a ticket, agreed. Everyone who got an award but will not be attending the banquet should not have to pay for their award to be made. That plaque should be gratitude for me supporting the OMA sanction all year. I'll take my ball elsewhere also.

Spring valley/broken spoke days. No doubt.

Cory I think there is a misunderstanding. I’m only responding so that other people don’t get confused. You don’t have to pay for your award to have it picked up at briarcliff or kames. The rsvp is to have the award made. No fee for pickup. Only a fee for attending the banquet for tickets

Now i know the "Battle for Ohio Series" was JO's idea and clearly his baby. (Thank you for this JO because it does make some great racing and crowds) But is it truly a Battle for Ohio? or a battle for the OMA series? The tracks should be voted on by riders who are AMA members since it is considered a AMA State Championship. and if that track is not OMA let them run one OMA race (battle race). Because that way it is a true Battle for Ohio.

And i agree with Schaffernocker in a sense. The riders buy a membership, compete all year, then have to pay to attend the banquet and be recognized for their accomplishments. Now yes, family and friends or anyone not receiving an award should have to pay to attend. Thats like the artist up for a Grammy award paying to go, no they get invited because they are the ones being recognized and the reason the other people are attending. Same goes with the gate fee at races, us riders have to pay to be the entertainment for the guests.... Now i know that is the main income for tracks so this may never change which is kinda understandable.

I get the thing about the banquet. Here is the situation that we face. We could either charge the ticket price, and that fee pays for the room and all of the meals at the banquet, and then use the remaining balance and spend it all on awards, product, grand prizes and misc swag. OR we could spend $13-15,000 on Ashland University out of the general fund, and cut budget on the other stuff and hand out grips, and have a few grand prizes.

NOW before anyone of you 1985 guys or you millennial know-it-alls starts up about why cant we have it at a hall, vfw or my uncle's barn, or why would anyone spend that much? I will tell you why. Its because we have around 600 in attendance, and start doing some searches on places that can comfortably hold 600+ and then price a banquet style menu, so far Ashland is one of the few places that fits. Most places tap out at 400, and any other place that I have found, that can do it has a menu at 30-35 bucks a head. Ashland is the working mans option when it comes to price per square foot. Plus I think the place looks very nice, better than a VFW or a Gymnasium. And they staff it well. So arguments about the place are useless until you can show me a better deal, that doesn't involve half of our family's cooking cleaning and waiting tables (I'm ahead of DHCK1).

Now if our numbers shrink we can look at a cheaper option, but again this is the boat we are sailing at the current time.

Yea, no. You can’t just throw a battle race at a voted pick. Way to much planning for that. And besides If it’s a flop the organization will pay for that for years.

you would vote the year before. and if its voted you would think that more people would show up because its where people wanna go.

I have heard the banquet is top shelf. BUT (and no I am not going with the banquets suck thing) why not just scale it back to ONE set of overall series awards. And then just the top 5 of them. You go from 600+ to 200 to 250 and you can then fit in a large number of rooms.
No one deserves an award for 30+ D, 9th place in the Tuesday afternoon, almost mega, spring, Bill Goodman's big gun and knife show, "series" .

I didn't mean to stir up the banquet is BS chat. Sorry JO, I honestly thought I had to pay for my award. This is why I tell myself all the time not to post on here. Lesson learned, I'll stalk from the sidelines and send PM's.

No sir, not a big deal. I just didn't want anyone to run with that thought. Just trying to provide correct info, and squash a potential misunderstanding, I wasn't trying to single you out if it felt that way.
